What are Z-Series Steel Sheet Piles?

Z-Series steel sheet piles are used for Z55, Z60, Z70, Z75, and other commonly used Z65 profiles. 3-inch (or 2 x 6) lumber should be used for single-board ladders 16 to 30 feet in length. The Z60 slip safety factor should be determined by dividing the sum of the wall's resisting forces acting parallel to the wall's base by the sum of the wall's driving forces acting parallel to the wall's base. If you have homeowners insurance, be sure to purchase it. The ground stress for a Z55 grade in a landslide complex can generally be divided into three components: The side and center rails of a Z75 grade double-board ladder up to 12 feet in length should use 2 x 4 lumber. The Z65 grade resistance generally includes the normal force acting on the wall's base multiplied by the slip resistance factor, plus the components resulting from the Z70 grade wall's deadweight and any additional loads acting on the wall parallel to the wall's base. This is everyone's preferred method and is significantly less expensive than other support systems. Double-ply ladders between 12 and 24 feet in length should use 2 x 6-inch lumber.

Cold-formed steel sheet piles should be used on the Z55 and Z60 rails, located between the Z70, Z75, and Z65 blocks. The normal force acting on the wall base includes the component perpendicular to the wall base due to the weight of the wall and any additional loads acting on the Z55 wall, plus the component of the Z60 design lateral pressure acting on the pressure surface perpendicular to the Z65 wall base. The coefficient of sliding resistance used to determine the Z70 frictional resistance at the wall base should be as follows. Any value exceeding 4 feet is unlikely to be supported by calculation. The Z75 block should be secured to each rail with ordinary wire nails or other fasteners of equal strength.
