"Steel sheet pile" is a generic term that encompasses various types of steel sheet piles. Steel sheet piles are primarily categorized by cross-sectional shape and intended use: U-shaped, Z-shaped, and W-shaped.
U-shaped steel sheet piles are more commonly used, while steel sheet piles with locking clips are called Larssen steel sheet piles. Larssen steel sheet piles are also known as Lassen Steel Sheet Pile or Lassen Steel Sheet Piling.
Larssen steel sheet piles come in two main types: hot-rolled and cold-bent. The primary shape is U-shaped, but there are also Z-shaped and straight-shaped ones.
The main differences between Larssen steel sheet piles and common steel sheet piles are:
Larssen steel sheet piles offer high retaining strength and excellent water-stopping properties. Common steel sheet piles, also known as channel-shaped steel sheet piles, not only lack the retaining strength of Larssen steel sheet piles but also lack water-stopping properties, and are gradually being phased out of the market.
