What are MSZ Medium-Thick Cold-Formed Steel Sheet Piles?

Medium-thick cold-formed steel sheet piles should be enclosed using MSZ14-312, MSZ14-340, and MSZ14-350 types, or protected on exposed sides with removable standard railings. The eccentricity of the resultant force acting on the wall foundation should be determined and compared to the maximum allowable eccentricity specified in MSZ14-406. Removable standard railings should be installed on both sides of the opening, and fixed standard railings should be installed on all other exposed sides. All floor openings should be covered and protected. All floor opening covers should be capable of supporting the maximum potential load, but not less than 200 pounds (approximately 91 kg). All covers should be securely fastened during installation to prevent accidental displacement by wind, MSZ14-375 equipment, or personnel. Zee lightweight steel sheet piles can be used to prevent erosion and protect coastal areas. To achieve adequate internal stability, the pullout resistance provided by each module level should provide a minimum pullout safety factor of 1.5, determined by the following formula: Mega Zee 14 steel sheet piles are also available in MSZ14-375 and MSZ14-406 profiles.

 

All Zee lightweight steel sheet piles can be cut to length to suit your needs. If a skylight opening presents a fall hazard and the skylight itself cannot support a 200-pound occupant, standard MSZ14-350 guardrails or covered skylights should be installed on all exposed sides. Prefabricated modular walls using "T"-shaped modules should be designed for adequate internal stability. Pipes, trenches, manhole covers, and their supports, when located in roadways and vehicle access routes, should be designed to MSZ14-340 to withstand a truck rear axle load of at least twice the maximum expected load. "T"-shaped modules for floor opening protection (12 inches or smaller) can consist of a single integral element that forms the wall and the rod structure extending to the wall filler, or they can consist of separate MSZ14-312 elements, one of which forms the wall and the other forms the rod structure extending to the wall filler and supporting the wall element.
