What are MSZ Lightweight Cold-Formed Steel Sheet Piles?

Lightweight cold-formed steel sheet piles must not be used in MSZ10-312, MSZ10-340, or MSZ10-350 shoreline sections. When calculating the total design lateral pressure acting on the pressure surface, the lateral pressure due to surcharge loads should be added to the design lateral earth pressure. Cantilevered log walls are the most common type of MSZ10-406 wall. Custom-built ladders on-site should be constructed according to their intended use. If the ladder is the sole means of access for 25 or more employees in an MSZ10-375 work area, or if simultaneous two-way traffic is expected, a double-clapboard ladder should be installed. For the determination of the design lateral pressure due to surcharge loads, refer to Section 5.5.5.10. Cantilevered walls with grade surcharge loads almost always present problems because they are not designed for grade loads or the increased seepage pressures often associated with MSZ10-350. Stacked log walls, like the one shown in the lower left corner, are often used to circumvent permit approval by disguising them as simply two adjacent "non-load bearing walls." When groundwater levels may exist within the wall fill and/or retaining wall, they should be considered in stability determinations. Side rails should be flared parallel or from top to bottom, with the flare not exceeding 1/4 inch per 2 feet of length.

 

Mega Zee 10 sheet piles also include steel section sizes of MSZ10-373 and MSZ10-406. The resistance created by lateral earth pressure in front of the precast modular wall should be ignored when calculating external stability. Tools should be retrieved using a rope pull or hoist to ensure contact with the MSZ10-340. F. Homemade ladders. This combination will almost always lead to failure at some point in the future. If splicing is required to achieve the required MSZ10-312 length, the splice must achieve the full strength of the continuous side rail of the same length.
