Frodingham Steel Sheet Piles 1 BXN 1N 2N are Z-section steel. Other sections are 3NA 4N 5 IA 1B 2 3 4 steel sheet piles. For structural steel railings, posts and top and intermediate rails shall be 2" x 2" x 3/8" angle steel or other metal sections of equivalent bending strength, with BXN posts spaced not more than 8 feet on center. Loads are based on a depth y, which is half the height of the considered pier. The developer determined that building a permanent dock on steel piles would provide the most maintenance-free design for the dock's fluctuating water levels. The design force on the front pier should not be less than the active earth pressure associated with the active failure wedge, which is controlled by a 4N clear opening at the top of the front wooden box. The ropes should be taut, with the height at all points between 5 inches (approximately 91 and 124 cm). The self-load of the member and the weight of the wall fill on top of the member should be considered. A floating 1A 1B dock was initially considered, but was found to be less attractive (the winter dock is located on an uneven lakebed), and the platform moving up and down on the supports would create excessive noise, which would not fit the desired atmosphere.
Other top railing configurations are permitted provided they meet the requirements of paragraph (b)(vii) of this subsection.
