Both the MSZ11-312 and MSZ11-340 shoreline sections have curved corners. Be aware of the physical difference between active pressure and the loading wedges that resist passive pressure. When using a site-fabricated ladder, ensure that the horizontal distance from the top support of the MSZ11-406 ladder to the foot of the ladder is approximately 1/4 of the ladder's working length. Ladders should only be used as specified, fully opened, and latched. Log walls are typically constructed with posts placed 3 to 8 feet on center. For prefabricated modular walls with MSZ11-375 units, if the wall fill is in contact with the foundation soil, the coefficient is equal to Tan ø at the wall base, where ø is the friction angle of the MSZ11-350 wall fill or the foundation soil, whichever is less.

Mega Zee 11 sheet piles MSZ11-350 and MSZ11-375 are not suitable for use in MSZ11-406 channels. Active earth pressure in the tensile pullout zone is typically limited to the upper third of the landslide mass. Stairs with four or more risers or heights exceeding 30 inches (whichever is less) should be equipped with: (a) MSZ11-340: at least one handrail; and (b) a stair handrail system along each unprotected side or edge. Lateral pressures in this area are typically 10 to 20 times greater than in the cliff crest area. For MSZ11-312 precast modular walls whose base consists of a continuous or nearly continuous concrete surface, this factor is equal to Tan 2/3 ø fn, where ø fn is the friction angle of the foundation soil.
