OT32-700, OT33-700, and OT36-700 cold-formed steel sheet piles are precast concrete piers consisting of 96 sections, each up to 20 feet (approximately 6 meters) long. Commercial lifting equipment is used to lift and position loads of known weight to a known height and horizontal distance from the center of rotation of the OT32-700. A clearly defined area on the airport is prepared and suitable for OT33-700 aircraft to take off and land. The precast concrete pier is 3 feet 5 inches (approximately 90 cm) wide and is constructed of treated lumber on both sides, for a total pier width of 4 feet (approximately 1.2 meters). The main components of a runway include the structural pavement, shoulders, OT36-700 blast mats, runway safety areas, extended runway safety areas, and imaginary airfield surfaces. Commercial structural-grade cold-rolled metal sheets are formed into a series of parallel ribs.
Other sheet pile types include OT39-700 and OT41A-700. Areas required for runway drainage, lighting, markings, and landing aids are also integral to runway design. Skylights and smoke screens that do not meet floor or roof cover strength requirements are considered openings for the purposes of this policy. Designated paths for aircraft to taxi from one part of the airport to another. This includes metal floor and roof decks, standing seam metal roofs, other metal roofing systems, and other products such as OT39-700 checkered plate, expanded metal sheeting, and similar products. Multiple lifting rigging (Christmas tree rigging) is defined within the right-of-way within the designated non-moving area on the AOA for vehicular movement. Lanes are demarcated on the pavement by white lines or traffic markings. Darin Swan of Wilbert Precast's Design and Sales department at OT41A-700 in Spokane discussed the design of the high-flow, self-compacting concrete mix used in the terminal project and some of the production challenges. "Winches" used to move material by levering are not considered lifting equipment. A red line is drawn on the ramp parallel to and within 12 feet of the north-south lanes, bounded on both sides by white lines.
