What are OT Steel Sheet Piles?

OT steel sheet piles are widely used around the world, particularly types T11A, OT12, OT13, OT13A, OT14, and OT18. Project engineering support ranges from technical consultation on installation equipment to complete design reports. The ability of retaining walls to prevent or limit groundwater seepage is crucial in many applications, such as basements, underground water tanks, temporary cofferdams, and isolation barriers. This pile consists of two U-shaped steel sheet piles welded together to form a box section. The engineering team has diverse qualifications and experience, but generally specializes in civil engineering, structural engineering, and geotechnical engineering applications. Sealed steel sheet pile walls provide a safe and economical solution wherever groundwater control is required, minimizing the risk of settlement of adjacent properties and keeping the foundation pit dry. Suitable sheet pile combinations are available in a variety of section moduli, and the most appropriate and economical sheet pile type can be selected based on design requirements.

Our engineering departments, located in key centers in China, Malaysia, and the UAE, are equipped with state-of-the-art analysis software and an extensive library of technical publications and international standards. The shape of the steel sheet piles (primarily Larsen type) has been improved to prevent loosening. The watertightness of the interlocking steel sheet piles will almost always improve over time, but sealants can provide an immediate method of controlling water flow/passage. Their maximum section modulus is 8,700 cubic centimeters per meter of pile wall width, making them suitable for large quay walls.

These allow for a design that complies with the relevant regional standards for nearly every application. Every construction project is unique, and ground conditions and installation methods vary from site to site; therefore, the sealant system employed must be designed accordingly. Angle sheet piles are a newly developed type produced through rolling to replace the traditional T-shaped angle sheet piles produced by welding. Their chemical composition, mechanical properties, shape, and dimensions conform to the requirements of JIS A 5523. Bending is a discrete process, with each operation producing a single pile. The clutch mechanism and reinforcement plate are then welded to the sheet pile body to achieve the desired finish.

For installation, OT20, OT21, OT22, OT23, OT24, OT25, and OT26 can be used without modification. Arcelor sheet piles are produced using both cold-formed and cold-rolled processes. They are supplied with a sealant to simplify the piling process, and a system is included to protect the sealant during driving into gravel and complex foundations. The combined length of the box sheet piles can be freely shortened to meet design requirements, making them cost-effective.

This simple yet effective process enables ESC to use the same machinery to produce a virtually unlimited range of products suitable for a wide range of end uses. The integrity of the sealant system used depends on its suitability for the pile installation method and ground conditions. The cold-forming process uses a press brake to bend the sheet into the desired contour. This eliminates the need for welding and other fabrication processes and results in lower weight.
