What are Type II Steel Sheet Piles?

Type II steel sheet piles are designed according to BS5950-1. The optimal anchorage location area. C9 hot-rolled steel sections are welded to the main steel sheet pile at appropriate positions and angles to form various types of connecting piles. The effective penetration depth, the maximum depth at which active pressure is present, is first determined.

The specified coating for SP-II steel sheet piles is shot blasting to SA2.5, followed by two coats of 250-micron Jotamastic 87 paint. This coating is considered to max

imize bending moments below the dredging line. The figure below shows the various hot-rolled special steel sections available. Note that angled steel sheet piles are typically supplied as single piles.

Above this level, reaction forces begin to develop. If the maximum bending moment level is not reached, effective penetration is considered the end of Type II sheet piles. A 35-year corrosion period is considered. The pile shaft is 22 meters long and painted on both sides. The beam capacity is designed to maintain a safety factor of 1.2 under static conditions and a safety factor of 1.1 under seismic conditions. NS-SP, SKSP, TSP, FSP, GSP, ISP, JSP, KSP, NKSP, JFE, and JFESP sheet piles all have dimensions of 400 x 100 x 10.5 mm.

Special sections are welded to the main sheet pile in accordance with EN 12063 and set back 200 mm from the top of the pile to facilitate driving. SP-2 sheet piles must be located in the passive wedge area shown in the figure to fully utilize the foundation's resistance.

The coating is applied to the top of the pile at 22.3 meters from the front and 4 meters from the rear.
